Type the name of the person you’re looking for into the Simple Search and submit the search.- If they are faculty or staff, their contact information will be shown.
- If you are looking for a student, use the Student Listings search. Some students also make their information private; they won’t show up via search.

Easy-to-Spell Names
To find students, faculty or staff at the University of Idaho, type a name into the search box and press or tap Search. If you don't know the full name of the person you're searching for, just type in their last name.
All searching is case-insensitive. That means that a search for Anderson returns the same results as a search for anderson.
Hard-to-Spell Last Names
If you're not sure how to spell the last name of the person you're looking for, you can sound it out if you search with a question mark.
For example, if you know the last name sounds like “Palouse,” but aren’t sure how to spell it, try entering “palouse?” (with a question mark at the end) in the search box. The search will look for names that sound similar to “Palouse.”
Note: The question mark function only works with last names.

Advanced Searches
The Advanced Search breaks the search criteria down further, so you can specify more information about the person you're searching for. You can search by details like:- First name
- Last name
- Email address
- Whether or not you're searching for students or for faculty and staff
Why Advanced Search?
Advanced Search allows you to be more specific about who you're searching for. Sometimes the Simple Search returns too many results or doesn't have the flexibility you need when you don't know someone's exact name. You can also get more results per page with the Advanced Search.
Search by Email Address
Sometimes it's handy to do a reverse lookup to find someone when you only have their email address.
Specify a Last Name with More than One Word
The Simple Search has trouble with last names that have spaces in them. For example, names like von Braun and von Wandruszka confuse the Simple Search into thinking that von is the person's first name. Use Advanced Search to get around this problem.
Wrong or Missing Information: Students
Make sure your personal listing is up to date by reviewing it in the Campus Directory. Try the solutions below first.
For Email Address, Permanent Address or Mailing Address Corrections
Log in to your account at https://vandalweb.uidaho.edu and go to the Personal Information menu to find options for updating your addresses. Any changes you make won't be visible in the online directory until after the next update.
All published student information is ultimately controlled by the Registrar's Office. Questions about your information can be emailed to registrar@uidaho.edu. Confidentiality requests can be filed using Registrar's Office forms.

Make sure your listing is up to date by reviewing it in the Campus Directory.
For Personal Directory Information
Please submit any changes to employee listings here.
For Department Administrators
Log in to your account at https://vandalweb.uidaho.edu and proceed to the Employees > UI Administrative Tasks > Campus Directory – Departmental section. If you have appropriate access, you can update information for your department listing including the Mini Directory. Click here to download directory update instructions.
Faculty, staff and department information is updated from Banner every four hours.
All published faculty, staff and department information is ultimately controlled by Human Resources. Questions about your information or access to your department information can be directed to them at hr@uidaho.edu or 208-885-3638.
